THE WHITEBRIER 2ND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS IN JULY EVENT!

The Whitebrier hosts the 2nd annual Christmas in July event with Long Miles

To benefit the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children

AVALON, NJ, July 18, 2012 – On Thursday, July 26, 2012, The Whitebrier will host the 2nd annual Christmas in July event to benefit the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children with Philadelphia-based jam band, Long Miles returning with live music.

The event will take place from 4 PM to 8 PM. The evening includes drink specials and a silent auction donated by local businesses in Avalon and Stone Harbor.  A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Home.

The Christmas in July event is in tandem with a week-long Dollars for Diller campaign, where nearly 100 local businesses, shops, and restaurants put marked beach pails and/or donation envelopes out to help raise funds for The Home.

Since 1972, The Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children, located at 126 27th Street in Avalon, NJ has been providing a seashore escape for visually impaired children, with supervision from experienced and certified counselors and administrators.  Since many of these children come from families with limited financial means, the vacation experience is provided to them at no charge.  The camp operates for eight weeks during the summer months, from mid-June to mid-August, with approximately 20 children (ages 7 to 15) attending weekly.  Support of The Home is provided by volunteerism, Tim Kerr Charities, Other Lions Clubs, private donations and foundation grants.  The Home is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization under the name “Challenged Children’s Charities Corporation.”  For more information about the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children, please visit www.dillerblindhome.org
