A VARIETY OF THEMED SPECIALS AND EVENTS
2012 Edition To Be Held at Boardwalk Hall on March 30, 31, and April 1
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (March 20, 2012) – It’s that time of the year again! In a few short days the Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo will make its return to Boardwalk Hall. More than 1,200 tons of special dirt will be loaded into the arena, stock will arrive, and the best cowboys and cowgirls in the world will be back in the saddle, competing for prize money and bragging rights. Some noteworthy riders who will be appearing at this year’s Rodeo include the number one Bull Rider in the world, Shane Proctor, prior World Champion Bull Rider Dustin Elliott, prior Saddle Bronc Champion Cody DeMoss, and one of Canada’s top Saddle Bronc riders, Kyle Thompson. Show times are Friday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m.
To celebrate the second year of this exciting event in Atlantic City, many of the local casinos and community partners will be offering their own special Rodeo themed promotions and events.
Borgata will be hosting an exclusive giveaway for a chance to win an overnight stay as well as a pair of tickets to see Keith Urban at Borgata on Saturday, August 25. Rodeo attendees can enter to win by signing up for My Borgata Rewards or by swiping their existing card at Borgata’s table at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31.
Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City Country Club will be offering a Rodeo themed special on Thursday, March 29 for anyone that mentions booking code “Cowboy”. Special rates are as follows:
· Prior to 9 a.m.- $55
· 9 a.m.- 11 a.m.- $75
· 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.- $55
· After 2 p.m.- $35
Jeans as well as cowboy and cowgirl get-up will also be permitted as proper attire for golf and clubhouses on this day only. Special guest Butch Kirby, the 1978 World Champion Bull Rider and scratch handicap golfer, will also be in attendance on this day. The Atlantic City Country Club will also be hosting exciting giveaways as well as offering a special Country Rodeo Barbeque menu. Main course selections and prices include a Char Grilled 6 oz. Angus Sirloin Burger for $14, a Char Grilled Jumbo Hotdog for $8, BBQ Baby Back Spare Ribs for $16, and Campfire BBQ Chicken for $14. Caesars Entertainment will also be offering 10% off at participating restaurants around their properties. A rodeo ticket is needed to redeem the discount. In addition, western themed beers will be available for guests to enjoy at Caesars Entertainment properties, Bally’s and Caesars. Craft beer and Magic Hat will be available on tap at Bally’s Lobby Bar. Caesars Toga Bar will offer Boots of Beer for $4 and Purple Cowboy Wine for $5.
Caesars Entertainment will also have additional specials at Bally’s and Harrahs Resort. Bally’s Virginia City Buffet will have a special menu available in honor of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo. Guests who buy a buffet will also receive $10 of slot play. Bally’s will also be hosting midnight beer pong tournaments on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31. Guests can sign up for these tournaments at the Atlantic City Convention Center’s Beerfest event that weekend. The cost for the beer pong tournament is $30 per team (2) and $6 for refills. Seven teams will be needed to initiate the tournament and the winner will take $250 home. Payment will be made once guests check into Bally’s. Guests will also have the opportunity to buy a bull ride at Bally’s on Friday and Saturday night. Guests who take advantage of this special will also receive a free t-shirt (based on availability). Bally’s will also have “25/7 Happy Hour” during Rodeo weekend which consists of $3 beers and $2 shots as well as DJ’s and Vixens performances.
Harrahs Resort will offer themed food specials at two of their restaurants in support of this year’s Rodeo. Bill’s Bar & Burger will be showcasing a chili cheddar cheeseburger topped with two onion rings for $10.50. Sammy D’s will offer a Cowboy Ribeye paired with jalepeno cornbread and BBQ potatoes for $30.50.
Resorts Casino Hotel will host Atlantic City’s official Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo After Party on Saturday, March 31 at Resorts Superstar Theater. This hoedown complete with cowboys, will feature live entertainment by Dean Simmons Garth Brooks Tribute, line dancing hosted by country line dance instructor Patti Nivens, a bar-b-que, $1 beers and more! Tickets for the official Atlantic City Rodeo After Party are $25 and include admission into the Superstar Theater. Drinks and food are at an additional cost. Tropicana Casino & Resort will be offering a wide variety of Rodeo themed specials throughout

Atlantic City community partners will also be joining in on some Rodeo fun! On Friday, March 30 join Cat Country 107.3 at the Second Annual Boardwalk Stomp! In support of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo, country line instructor Patti Nivens, will lead one of the biggest line dances in South Jersey! It all happens in front on the Boardwalk at Kennedy Plaza (directly in front of Boardwalk Hall) at high noon. Cat Country 107.3 has also started their National Anthem Singing Contest for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo. The final rounds of the contest will be taking place this week and the winner will receive a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents at Boardwalk Hall with a performance of the national anthem before the start of the competition on Sunday, April 1.
The PRCA will be hosting a Championship Rodeo Camp for children ages 8 and older on Saturday, March 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Camp curriculum includes an introduction to Roughstock events such as safety and fundamentals, livestock safety, injury prevention, tips from pros, chute procedures, riding equipment overview, goal setting, and introduction to PRCA.
The Industry Outreach Department of the PRCA will be offering fans who attend the Rodeo a unique interactive rodeo experience. The PRCA “Hall of Education” will allow interaction with rodeo cowboys, rodeo queens, and other personnel to try their hand at roping a dummy and learn about techniques of rodeo cowboys as well as equipment. The display will also feature information on the history of the sport of Professional Rodeo and extensive information on the livestock involved.
In addition, during Rodeo event days the Boardwalk Hall concourse will be transformed into the “OK Corral” with a variety of booths and sponsors offering western themed merchandise, clothing, and jewelry.
Lastly, courtesy of Berman Travel and Spirit Airlines, event-goers will have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive sweepstakes consisting of two roundtrip tickets for a four day, four night stay in Cancun, Mexico.
