ATLANTIC CITY – The Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center of Atlantic and Cape May Counties proudly announces the honoree of its 2013 Annual Gala as Don Marrandino, Eastern Division President for Caesars Entertainment.
The Gala is scheduled for Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 6 p.m. at One Atlantic at the Pier Shops in Caesars in Atlantic City.
Marrandino’s innovative spirit and leadership has transformed Atlantic City into the entertainment capital of the East Coast. Overseeing Caesars Entertainment four Atlantic City properties including Caesars, Bally’s, Harrah’s Resort and Showboat since October 2009, Marrandino has played a major role in cleaning up the Boardwalk, bringing thousands of high rollers from all over the country and opening up entertainment to non-gaming tourists.
In 2009, the Katz JCC took over operations of the Atlantic City Marathon and has successfully turned its reputation around adding to the mission of Marrandino to transform the Atlantic City market to a first-class entertainment destination by bringing in an entirely new demographic of non-gaming tourists to the community.
This year, the efforts of the JCC with the help and support of sponsors such as Caesars Entertainment and Marrandino have brought more than 4,000 runners to the city of Atlantic City from 48 states and eight countries throughout the race weekend. Celebrating 54 years of running in the city of Atlantic City, the Katz JCC with the support of its sponsors has reinvented the third-oldest marathon in the country creating a foundation of increased success in the years to come.
The Katz JCC Annual Gala is presented as an opportunity for the organization to recognize individuals that have had a positive impact on our community and celebrate their business, political, philanthropic or personal achievements. In turn, the event helps the Katz JCC raise funds to further its mission to provide the children and seniors of Atlantic and Cape May counties, as well as, the community as a whole programs and services that enhance and enrich their lives.
