AHL’s Albany Devils to Face Off Against Bridgeport Sound Tigers

in Second of Four Game Series on Sunday, January 13


Atlantic City, NJ – Hockey fans, it’s time for you to get up close and personal with your favorite sport once again! The AHL’s Albany Devils will return to the Art Dorrington Ice Rink at Boardwalk Hall to take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday, January 13. This game will mark the second of a four game series that the Albany Devils will participate in this winter in Atlantic City. Doors open at 3 p.m. with a game time start of 4 p.m.


Thirteen players on Albany’s roster have NHL experience, including Stephen Gionta, Adam Henrique, Jacob Josefson, Adam Larsson and Tim Sestito, who all participated in New Jersey’s run to the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.  The AHL Devils are coming off their most successful month of the season. During December, the team went 7-3-1-1, earning 16-out-of-a-possible-24 points. The Devils rank near the top of the American Hockey League in several defensive categories. They are sixth with a 2.66 goals-against average and third with an 87.5 penalty kill percentage. Offensively, Bobby Butler leads the team with 21 points with 14 goals and seven assists. Josefson is second with 20 points, including eight goals and 12 assists and Larsson is third with 16 points with two goals and 14 helpers.


 On January 13, ticketholders should be ready to see a thrilling game of ice hockey and partake in contests, games, and giveaways. For starters, the first thousand fans to arrive to the game will receive a free Coca-Cola.  During the first intermission, NBC 40 Sports Director, Pete Thompson, will go head to head with one contestant on the ice in the “Beat Pete” shootout. (Contestant selected prior to game day through entries submitted on  At the end of the second period, the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey will host a Chuck-A-Puck contest. During the game, fans will be able to stop by the United Way booth to purchase foam pucks which they will be able to “chuck” onto the ice for a chance to win a cash prize. A portion of the proceeds from this contest will benefit the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.


Also, be sure to look for the Albany Devils mascot, Devil Dawg, who will be available for fan photos and initiating a t-shirt toss in the stands during game breaks and time outs. 



New Jersey Devils alumnus Grant Marshall will also be back to meet and greet with fans before

the game and during the first period. Marshall played professionally for 14 seasons, including four-plus years for the Devils’ organization from 2003-08. He was a member of New Jersey’s 2003 Stanley Cup Championship team, after winning his first Cup with the Dallas Stars in 1999. Marshall is in his fifth season as a member of the Devils Alumni Association, where he participates in various charitable initiatives set forth by the organization.


Local boy and girl scout groups will also be able to participate in Scout Night by attending the game. Ticket discounts will be available to all local troops. Scout attendees will also receive a Boardwalk Hall badge. For more information on Scout Night, call (609) 348-7023.


With some great action packed games to look forward to in the New Year, the Albany Devils will also be back on Sunday, January 20 at 4 p.m. to face off against the Adirondack Phantoms and on Sunday, February 24 at 4 p.m. to battle the Hershey Bears. The Albany Devils series at Boardwalk Hall is being presented by Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority and Caesars Atlantic City.  Tickets for all upcoming games start as low as $11, providing families with a fun, indoor activity for the winter.


There will be promotions in store for all scheduled Albany Devils games at Boardwalk Hall. On Sunday, January 20, local supermarket chain Shop Rite will host an on ice promotion during the first intermission. They will also be here to present the Chuck-A-Puck contest during the game’s second intermission. A portion of the proceeds from this contest will benefit Shop Rite’s Partners in Caring, a year-round, community-based, hunger-fighting initiative that works with more than 50 food industry manufacturers to provide $2 million annually to more than 1,700 qualified charitable agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland. A lucky fan will also be called out as a lucky seat winner and win a gift card to Carmines. Additionally, at the conclusion of the game, ticketholders will have the opportunity to put on their skates and participate in a free hour long public skate on the ice.   


On Sunday, February 24, there will be “Sweet Deals” drawings throughout the whole game which will award some lucky guests with prizes such as gift certificates for Atlantic City Restaurant Week, hotel rooms and hospitality at Caesars Atlantic City, gift cards to Carmines, Girasole, and Shop Rite, tickets to future Boardwalk Hall events and more! At the end of the first period there will be a “Mites on Ice” hockey game featuring children from the Art Dorrington Ice Hockey Foundation.


As always, Devil Dawg will be out and about at all games to greet fans.


Individual game pricing is as follows: $26 for the first two rows on the glass, $21 for the lower bowl, and $16 for the upper bowl. Special rates are available for kids 2-12, seniors 65+, military, students, and groups of 10 or more. These discounted rates are priced at $16 for the lower bowl and $11 for the upper bowl. Four packs can also be purchased for $65 and include four tickets in

the upper bowl, four hot dogs, and four soft drinks (note: four packs must be purchased in

advance). Tickets can be purchased at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, all Ticketmaster  

locations, at or by calling (800) 736-1420. All tickets that are purchased on game day will be $1 higher in price.


Fan Experience packages are also available which allows hockey fans, groups, and youth

organizations to become part of the action on the ice on game day. Hockey clubs who purchase

100 or more tickets for any game at any price will receive 90 minutes of free ice time at
