2013 ECAC HOCKEY MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

FRI. MARCH 22; SAT. MARCH 23 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM

ECAC Hockey returns in this two day NCAA Division I Men’s Championship. The four top teams in the conference will battle it out on the ice looking to capture the Whitelaw Cup and an automatic bid to the 66th annual NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Tournament. Defending champion Union will look to be the first team to win back-to-back titles since St. Lawrence (2000 & 2001). Yale will be looking for its third title in the last five years. Brown will be searching for its first-ever crown; while regular-season champion Quinnipiac seeks its first tournament title as well.

Listed below is a summary of the upcoming tournament schedule:

FRIDAY, MARCH 22 (SEMIFINALS)
Semifinal No. 1 - Brown vs. Quinnipiac - 4 p.m.;

Semifinal No. 2 - Union vs. Yale - 7:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23 (THIRD-PLACE & CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES)
Third-Place Game - 4 p.m.
Championship Game - 7 p.m.

 

All-session tickets are priced at $42 for upper level seats, $52 for lower level seats and $87 for first two rows on the glass. Single-session tickets, good for admission to both games per day, are $26 for the upper level and $31 for the lower level. Tickets for students and military are $15 and can be purchased in person at the box office. TD Bank Family Four-packs are $79 and include four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks (must be purchased in advance). Following their successful fall tour, former Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh & Bob Weir and their band Furthur return for their much anticipated Spring Tour 2013. ATLANTIC CITY HOST AWARDS (Community Event)

WEDNESDAY, MAY 8 (Ballroom)

The 16th Annual Atlantic City Host Awards will honor the best of the best in the Atlantic City area hospitality industry. Presented by the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA) and the ACCVA Foundation, the program salutes and encourages excellent customer service industry-wide. In addition to honoring award winners in 27 categories ranging from various food service, bar and hotel personnel to retail, visitor information, spa and casino positions, the prestigious Spirit of Hospitality Award will be presented to the Dougherty family, which has owned and operated some of the city’s most famous restaurants for generations. The Doughertys currently own and operate Dock’s Oyster House, Knife and Fork Inn and Harry’s Oyster Bar. Dock’s has been in the family’s control since it opened in 1897. Scholarships for students attending hospitality programs at area colleges will also be presented during the banquet. The scholarships are awarded by the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association and the ACCVA Foundation. MOTHER’S DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Platinum Productions proudly presents its 5th Annual Mother’s Day Music Festival featuring celebrated soul and R&B artists Charlie Wilson, Jaheim, Freddie Jackson and El Debarge.

 

Charlie Wilson was the lead singer for the Gap Band and sang on four number one R&B hits. In 2005’s LP Charlie, Last Name Wilson hit the Top Ten thanks to the success of the title track and “Magic.” Uncle Charlie followed in 2009 and Just Charlie released in 2010. In January he released With Love Charlie and the first single entitled My Love. He has been nominated for the BET and Soul Train Awards.

 

Jaheim is a forerunner and torch-carrier of today’s soul-originated R& B with his smooth and sonorous tone. He has released three albums over five years, with his first being Ghetto Love in 2001. One of his biggest hits is “Just In Case”. He has been nominated for the BET and Soul Train Awards. In 2010 he released the album titled “Another Round”.

Freddie Jackson has been a well-known soul singer since the 1980s. Among his well-known hits are “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times’ Sake)”, “Jam Tonight”, “Do Me Again”, and “You Are My Lady”.

 

El DeBarge, is the former lead singer of the R&B family group DeBarge until the mid-1980s. He went on to be a solo artist, his best known hits are “Who’s Johnny” and “Love Always”. He has collaborated with artist from Tone Loc, to Quincy Jones. El Debarge is a three-time Grammy nominee. In 2010 after a lengthy hiatus he released a successful album titled Second Chances. That also featured a duet with Faith Evans titled “Lay With you”.

17TH ANNUAL EAST COAST GAMING CONGRESS

The East Coast Gaming Conference is the premier forum for gaming experts to share ideas, express concerns and articulate visions about the past, present and future of the gaming industry. Parkwood Entertainment has announced that The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour starring Beyoncé kicks off in Europe on April 15. With stops in twenty European cities, including Dublin, Ireland; Berlin, Germany; Paris, France and a four-night stint at The 02 in London, UK, this is Beyoncé’s first multi-city tour in over three years. Live Nation also announced that Beyoncé’s North American Tour begins on June 28 in Los Angeles. The tour will travel to over twenty cities throughout North America this summer, including Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston, Toronto and Boston. The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour promises to be the entertainer’s most ambitious undertaking to date. It is expected to be bigger in scope than any of her previous shows.
