About Dick Fennessy:
If its the heart of your day on Saturdays and Sundays, it must be Dick Fennessy, weekends on Kool 98-3! A Philly native, Dick drew inspiration listening at night to the giant AM rock stations of the 60s and 70s, like WCFL and WLS in Chicago, CKLW in Detroit, and WKBW Buffalo, which used to fill the local nighttime radio dial. In 1972, he stepped onto the air himself and never looked back, from Atlantic City, to six years on air and programming at WAMS, Wilmington, and more than 7 years on the air at Famous 56 WFIL in Philadelphia. Following programming credits in Princeton, York and Richmond, Dick Fennessy returned to South Jersey, leading WFPG-FM to dominance in the '90s as Program Director, spending a total of 12 years on the air in afternoons in the same city. Dick's spin on what's happening, and his enthusiasm for the music you hear on Kool 98-3, make weekends special at the shore. A self-described sports addict, Dick Fennessy can be found near the tube watching ESPN or TCM, and a great story about The Phillies and Eagles, past and present, is usually on the tip of his tongue. A solid and consistent on air performer for four decades running, and he's on Kool 98-3 this and every weekend!
